UNIBEN students build car


Students of the University of Benin have done Nigeria proud by raising the bar in automotive technology innovation after successfully constructing a car called ‘Tuke-Tuke’.

The car was showcased at the 2015 conference and exhibition of the Society of Engineers in Lagos yesterday.

Tuke-Tuke was built by students of the institution for the Shell Eco-marathon competition.

The car passed international technical evaluation in Rotterdam, Netherlands and has qualified to race at the 2014 Eco Marathon in Netherlands with cars from 25 countries, mostly advanced countries.
